The modern scientific world in our great
technological era owes a particular debt to the Muslims, especiallay in the
fields of Optics.
In the Scientific world, we possess the book of
rays by al-Kindi (of the 9th century), which was already far in advance then
those books produced by the Greeks lore of the incendiary mirrors.
The Great Muslim Scientist, Ibn al-Haitham (Alhazen,
965), who was a great reseracher in the field of optics deeply studied the
nature of the eye. Ibn al-Haitham's research was later utilized in the modern
world in order to develop what we have that is known as the modern day camera.
Al-Kindi, al-Farabi, Ibn-Sina, al-Birun and
others who were representatives of Muslim science, yield their place to none in
the world history of science.
The religion of Islam, due to the fact that it
was ordained directly by the Creator, finds no contradiction between the laws of
the faith and the modern and natural scientific world.
